I'm a llama!

« on: April 04, 2005, 11:04:31 am »

Hi,
My 1996 Espace 2.2EXEC heater/air control lights do not work. The actual dash lights are OK. The ash tray and cigarette lighter are not working as well. Do I have to dismantle all the central dash to change bulbs. I can't find any reference to these lights in the Haynes manual. It's a bit of a bind fiddling with switches in the dark. Can anyone please help.
Regards

Mike

Do I have to dismantle all the central dash to change bulbs.

Thats what I had to do on my J63D, for the exact same reason.

Advice:
Turn the handles fully to the one side, - it will make reassembling
easier to get right first time.

After my first reassembly, everything looked SO great and I was happy - until I wanted to turn on the heat, and found that the "max-heat" was now "12 oclock" and not "4pm"  ! - argh!   :-)

There is a (german) description of the procedure here:

Thanks for the very useful link, I must admit it looks a bit daunting. I'm scared of not being able to put everything back together correctly, looks like I'll have to pay a professional to do it!!
Does anybody know the part numbers of the bulbs from behind the heater conrols and the individual switches below, and where they can be bought from??
