Hi guys,
The clutch on my 01 2.2 dci has just started slipping, how many hours will this take and whats involved? Is the fly wheel dual mass, and is it normal to replace this as well - the clutch does not judder - just slips.

Thought I'd mention that after cleaning my egr 6 months ago it stuck open again when towing a caravan.....!!! Now I have left it unplugged, as it's spring to close it's now always closed and to my surprise generates no engine fault lights. I have noticed that the engine seems to run cooler and I've heard that the mpg should be better as well (common practice on the BMW td5 is to use a blanking plate).

Thanks, John

Help much appreciated. I've just had one garage refuse to even take on the job saying that it quotes 7 hours labour in his guide book for the clutch replacement, and it will probably take longer?
