Hi, and thanks for a really cool forum. Ive enjoyed reading up on all the various topics and really enjoyed it all.

Well, im looking for an extra alu wheel for my Grand Espace. Its 15" wheels that came with the car when it were new. Ill try and add a picture of the ones we have, and perhaps any one of you fellow members can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum, Blom Smiley

Yes, I think we need a photo... I don't remember what kind of wheels they fitted the Espace's with in 2000. My 2001 has 'The Race' rims which resemble a compass:

Renault tend to name all of their wheel styles and that particular style of wheel was called "Estoril".

You can sometimes find them on e-bay... although more often than not in France. French for wheel is "jante" so just search for "espace jante" and they usually come up.

But the most likely local source is a vehicle breakers/dismantlers. If a vehicle is badly enough damaged to have found it's way to into a scrap yard then usually one or more of the wheels are now square but as you only want one then it should be less of a problem.

Although fitted to other variants, all of the limited edition "The Race" versions of the Espace were factory fitted with Estoril's... according to the brochure I still have (at least in the UK anyway) if that helps to locate one.

good luck,

Martin

Martin, thanks for the french word for wheel, ill go ebay way and see what comes up. If you know what the name are for the alu wheel shown, please post back.

Hi Blom

If you know what the name are for the alu wheel shown, please post back.

Looks like you missed the first line of my previous post.... as advised, that style of wheel Renault name "Estoril"

Before you go hunting for one though could I suggest that you again check the size. You advise in your first post that you have 15" wheels but as far as I am aware all the higher specification Espace's from that period had 16" wheels. Only the very basic variants had 15" wheels and looking at the brochure from when I bought my car new in 2002 the Estorils were only available as 16" at that time.

I agree here, Estoril rims are 16 inch.

Wink Your both right, its 16" wheels and yes, I overlooked the estoril part.

I saw a couple of wheels in france, but apparently he didnt want to ship them abroad.

Ill keep looking, and thanks both for your replies Smiley

I agree here, Estoril rims are 16 inch.
Just info - my 2002 2.2dci "The Race" also came with 16 inch - but steel - wheels.
I have later fitted oversize 17" which gives even better ride comfort AND has caused the speedo to show the correct speed Smiley

Hi again Blom
I would also watch e-bay for Espace's being dismantled for spares. If you search on "Espace parts" or "Espace breaking" you will usually find a selection being offered for spares.... I assume that you are in the UK?
There's a 1999 V6 being advertised on e-bay for spares at the moment but the picture doesn't show the actual car so you'd have to check which wheels it has.
Also quite a few of the dismantlers are regular users of e-bay and some have e-bay shops so you could always drop one an e-mail to see if they happen to have any Estorils in stock even though they may not be advertising one at the moment.

The wheel size is easily reconfigured on most JE on the ABS computer using CLIP - it is called speedo index.

I did this on my JE0G as it was configured for 15" while i am running 17".
