How about fitting one of these on the battery:

There's a variant of the switch which has a small fuse fitted in parallel with the knob. This means that an alarm, radio and clock is still powered if the knob is removed. But fi someone tries to crank the engine, the fuse will blow and the car will be dead. For a car that's rarely used that's probably the best solution, but it would be a bit awkward to have to open the hatch before and after every drive if it's regularly driven, so maybe it's not such a good idea for you?

Fitting a switch in the crank wire from the igntion lock is probably the best way to do it.

On this side of Oeresund, we're required to fit a three circuit immobiliser if we want theft insurance Sad

I will use it pretty often on the summer so it should be located hidden in the car, perhaps under steeringwheel.
Ill investigate little more on the three cables coming from the ignition.

btw. is an entusiast insurance, only 1400skr a year, fully insurance

That's very cheap. AFAIR, I pay some 5000 dkk per year for a full insurance with max 8000 km per year (but can be increased for a fee). Classic car insurances normally require the car to not be used in the winter months and to be kept in garage. As my Murena is the family's second car and I don't have a garage, I don't have any other option Sad

The wires from the ignition lock should be pretty straight forward to work on and are connected to the main loom with tab connectors. Unless yours looked like mine, which were corroded and melted, you could just pull out one of the connectors and link your switch in.

But I'm not sure it will make for an effective theft protection as car thieves know what to look for Sad

thanks
it doenst say it must be effective etc.  just there Cheesy, hidden somewhere...

Ill investigate it further and se if my cables are in good cond.
A simple switch killing the 2nd ignition on the key would be the best?  switching the starter solenoid is easy to get around if you have strong legs Wink

No, it's designed to be fitted directly on the battery - which is a good thing IMO because it's the simplest possible installation and does not extend cables or anything. I bought mine from http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu

The switch you have found will no doubt be a better choise for you. Split the permanent 12V wire to the ignition lock and insert the switch there. I think the handle can be removed from the switch so it will act as a simple additonal key.
