So I noticed this: https://youtu.be/Sdofy-xLFzc

Also searched around a bit and noticed Oetker had found a replacement for the cross thingy in the universal joint, a certain "GKN U126". I tried reaching out to him as well but I didn't see my message in "outbox" and since I probably need some more advice on how to fix this I figured I'd better open a thread for this one.

Anyone tried this GKN U126 part?

Should I buy a couple extra? Maybe to replace the other one and to have a spare when it ever does go again?

Any tips on how to tackle this?

Small update. Oetker just replied to me and mentioned the part is more or less a good fit and only needs a slight adjustment and also gave me some tips on how to replace this. I'll order the part and have a go when I find some time. I'll report back in time on the progress :)

Just realised that I forgot to update on the progress.
The new cross link thingy is in place and secured. Took a bit of effort to get the old one out and a lot of effort to get the new one in undamaged since it's ever so slightly longer than the original.
Most importantly there's no play in the steering any more!  :)
