Politecnic gear shift kit

Is there anyone who has tried Politecnic gear transmission kit for the Murena? I would not mind to improve the gear shift in my car.

Yes I have and it does help, but more of a replacement for your old worn out system. The best thing to check first is that the metal angled lever is actually greased and pivoting freely on the retaining bolt screwed into the gearbox and that the system is adjusted correctly.
There are a couple of mods easily carried out if you want a substantial improvement. One is moving the linkage connection to the gearbox lever inboard to create a "quick shift" and the other is to mount a bracket on the main in-line actuating rod just ahead of the engine. This mod causes a bit of tension as it is not quite how the system was designed to work, but I have used it for many years and I have no problems at all, taking all the "slop" out of the gear lever and providing a nice spring back into the central position.

Also check that the rod going into the gearbox is not wobbling sideways as that will cause a lot of sideways slack in the gear shift. I've got a new bush somewhere , but the old one is stuck in the gearbox, so I won't be able to do anything about it until I get the box out of the car.

And even if the box is out of the car it can be difficult.
The latest box I opened I needed hammer and chisel to get it loose.

Thank you guys! I've been busy with other modifications and improvements to the car and I have not yet had time to put me into how gear shifting mechanism really works, but now it is this which is in turn of tasks. However, GP, you will generally say that this shift linkage kit is worth the money?
If the rod that goes into the gearbox has a lot of slack, what can be done? You mention a bush Anders?

I have access to a fully equipped mechanical workshop and I am a gunsmith by trade so I can produce most of the bushes and parts, if there are things that are difficult / expensive to buy.

(The rebuilding of my vacuum system was so successful as to how the car behaves that I've been very keen on improving ALL the shortcomings of my car. And the only thing that now "inhibit" my love for this little gem of a car, is the gear shift mechanism:-))

The slack is cured by replacing the brass bush. Simon uses p/n 09-175 for it... screen shot from his pdf catalogue attached.

Dear variator,
Of cause it will be possible to install the shifter kit in a Murena, if you got the will and the skills. However it does not come cheap, 2400 USD for the base kit plus charges for various accessories, fittings and connections. Further you will have to create an installation kit yourself, the company is supplying installation kits for Corvette, Mustang and the 911, but decently not for the Murena. But please have in mind that you will still have to operate the clutch pedal with your foot.

I would think that there is no easy job to assemble this for use on a Murena ...... must get along with the old wobbly gear lever
