diesel ecu mapping 2.2dci

Hi - has anyone remapped their 2.2dci - was thinking (hoping!) it might improve releiabilty.

Mine is from 2003 grand espace - it started idling slightly uneven, then revs would climb when in neutral (no smoke), then wouldnt start, but after towing and putting in gear and turning engine over and leaving overnight - she started!

So I was planning a root and branch visit to a diesel specialist! And test injectors, pumps etc.

2003, is that a mk4. if so it does not have a prime pump in line but on the pack of the hp pump. I have had one that would not start/ poor performance. worked fine for a few days after using injector cleaner. Sounds like air in your system.

Any thoughts on remapping?!

Also as former owner - do you have a list of common issues for some preventative maintenance eg I recently had the pleasure of front suspension spring going!
