Looks just like a design student sticking some Talbot badges on a drawing.

Talbot was a made up badge by Peugeot to try to move away from the Chrysler name when they took over Chrysler UK and Simca.  It had nothing to do with the original "Talbot" marque apart from the it being part of the Rootes Group marques which were bought by Chrysler.

There was a lot of heritage behind Rootes and Simca but nothing behind "Talbot" that related to any of the cars in the 80's.  The only attempt to make a "new" Talbot was the Tagora (the Samba was a 104 customised with a chainsaw with a new grille) and even that was a re-modelled Peugeot and, if we are honest, a complete failure commercially.  Possibly one of the most uninspiring styled cars since the Lada Riva or the Morris Ital

Peugeot has had the cheek to use names like "Sunbeam" and "Rapier" with disrespect ever since.

Anything that ever appears with a "Talbot" badge from PSA in the future should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Lewisman, yes this is just a marketing gimmick. And the side mirrors look like they come from a Citroen.

To capture market shares, the car factories really need different marques. People don't want to drive the same car "as everybody else" and putting a different badge on apparantly makes a huge difference. Just look at the 107/C1/Aygo concept - exactly the same car, with small differences, yet competing with each other. To some extent, the biggest car factory will be the one with the most different marques to put on.

Where did you find this, Michal?
1982 Talbot Matra Murena 2.2 prep 142 (under restoration)

Used to own:
2001 Renault Matra Grand Espace "The Race" V6 24v
1997 Renault Matra Espace 2.0 8V
1987 Renault Matra Espace J11 2.2

This picture I found on www.talbot.fr.st but I have some new informations that it isn't only study of some "no name" student. This picture was presented in L'Auto Journal which is very important magazine in France. PSA don't want to comment this informations, but... who knows :)

French people who discused about it are divided to two parts. One says that it is very wrong end of this name, and other says: why not? I mean, that if it will be concurence to Renault Logan, we have to be worry about the poor quality, but for me, it will be Talbot again and I am hungry to see brand new car named Talbot :) I am totally not interested in old Talbot cars I like only those from 1980 till 1986. Doesn't make sense to start big discusion if Samba or Horizon was good car or not, they were fine in their time.

But I really am decided to buy it, because I will never be objective with everything about what I love --- Simca/Talbot.

There was nothing much wrong with the Alpines, Horizons and even the Sambas and Sunbeams were okay in their day (I kept my dad on the road with Horizons and they were good to drive, easy to fix and generally reliable). My point was more about the name Talbot.  If PSA want to bring back a French marque why not use a real one e.g. Simca

Yes, why not Simca... I have red that PSA is prepairing reincarnation of some old well known name for new luxury car. Maybe Panhard, they wrote, but if Talbot will be concurence for Logan, new luxury car could be Panhard or Simca so, we will wait and see...

Why not just let Matra make sports cars again?.. they have the pedigree if they just want a fancy name on a psa car.
