I am not sure, but I believe there is a picece missing across the rear above the lights. I think the gap is too wide.
Does anybody know for sure?

Don't know about that, but shouldn't it say "Matra-Simca"?

No, the later Bagheeras were branded Talbot-Matra like the Murena.

No, Talbot - Matra is correct from body number 45757. My car has body number 47199.

It looks like an ordinary rubber strip, but I can't figure out why such a short piece would be joined in the middle, as it appears to be. I recently came across a web shop for car builders, and they seem to stock a few different types of rubbers and trims. I suggest you search their catalog:

It is a metal strip.  There is a very small possiblity that I might have one but can't promise.

3 parts.
Stainless steel painted  Roll Eyes

2 sides are a profile that is pop riveted under the rear pannel
The center section is just there for the liaison.

I don't believe I've a spare but you can certainly try the usual shops

I know this is rather late but I have just found the ideal replacement part for the black edge strip that goes across the rear of the car above the rear lights (assuming you did not find a genuine Matra spare part)

A friend was putting new tiles on my bathroom wall and he used a plastic edge strip that is the same size and shape as the Bagheera trim piece.

The piece I purchased for trial purposes is made by:-
Homelux,
Airfield Industrial Estate,
Ashbourne,
Derbyshire,
DE8 1HA

Tel: 01335 347 300 (or +44 1335 347 300)

www.homelux.co.uk

The 9mm version is just the right size. Mine is black but I think they do Chrome and White as well.

The product is called "PVC Tiletrim" and is available from any tile shop or DIY store or Bricolage. Cost is "peanuts"

I shall be using it on Baggy Joe.

Well, I bought an original kit of strips from Simon, black painted stainless steel. And they cost a lot of peanuts Angry
Thank you anyway!
