Well, my problems with my Espace never seems to end!
Now the rear lights are starting to have a party, and flashing all the time.
It seems like a “normal earth” problem. – When using the signal indicator, the brake lights is flashing, and with normal lights on, the brake lights is also slowing a bit light. – It is the same in both sides.

The lamp seems pretty okay, but the “earth” pin is very black, and the surrounding plastic has melted. – But that’s to fixed, but think is that difficult.

The tricky part is, that the problem is not really in the lamp or the connection. When I check the wires, BEFORE the connection to the lamp, the problems is the same. A small amount of voltage (1-3 volt) is measured to the brake light. My question is therefore – Where to start finding the error?

The vehicle is equip with a tow bar. – Where are the wires to the tow bar connected to rest of the car? – Perhaps I can find the problems there? – Any ideas are welcome!

This a "normal" fault, best is to take a new earth cable from chassis and solder to the lamp on both sides.

Arhg... Don't like the "This a "normal" fault"...  Wink
Any ideas / pictures of points to solder on the lamp, and mainly - Where do I find a nice clean earth on the chassis?

In my car the towbar plugs are connected to each rear light and then the existing wireing is again connected to the towbar plugs. When I installed it nothing was working and I then read the manual :-) .  When the car is with canbus (From year 2000 onward i believe) I needed to install an additional relay in order to get it all working. I placed the relay in the room where you have the jacklift and the key for the the wheel bolts, so you may find such a relay at the same location or in the other side where the CD disk module is located in case that you need to troubleshoot the relay?

Hi Renaultbiler!

Thanks! - That was the solution! - But now, when towing a trailer, the blinker flashes rapidly?!? (Also on the trailer)
The trailer works fine with other cars, and the connections has been solded in the "trailer towbar connection"
