Hi All

Past few days i notice the is a cloud of blue smoke  (burning oil) on start up on my 2.2 dci 01 espace. clears after 30 sec. its starting to use abit of oil now too.

Im think valve guides but not 100%, but when i was last under the car i noticed a slight oil on the bottom of the compresser housing. been under the car a number of times and was never there before. not sure if this is related. Power of the car seems fine as well.

can anyone give me an idea where to start looking?

thanks in advance

If the smoke is only on start up and clears very quickly then it is most likely the vale stem seals. You micht as well get a top overhaul gasket set which includes the seals and while you are at it, change the cam belt, you have to disconnect it anyway to remove the cylinder head.

How blue is it, what does it smell like? I had an alfa with a dodgy injector that gave a bellow of smoke on startup & then cleared quickley. So could be a leaking injector.
