As far as i know the gearbox used in the murena was taken from the citroen cx range..
But has the gearbox, or bellhousing, been modified in anyway to make it fit the murena?

Yes it is Citroen CX  - my other favourite car being a CX25GTi  Turbo - but Matra modified the bellhousing to take the clutch slave cylinder. The CX used a cable operated clutch and used to snap the cables...
The box is also common to the Talbot Express van but I don't know if the bellhousing is different.

http://www.espace-murena.com/articles.html and click "Boîte de vitesses" on the left - this gives you all the info you need - in French!

It is an excellent page! You should find yourself a dictionary, French is easy - Clutch is Embrayage and it's just that way all along. I made a French-Danish word list once... let me see if I can find it.... hmm

yup, here:

Krede, you should really consider putting your Murena in the registry - click the 'RECENSEMENT' link or http://www.espace-murena.com/recensement.html - that section is available in English and German too!

But is the bellhousing itself any different (apart from the hydraulic clutch)?
What i am thinking of is, will a cx bellhouse fit the murena 2.2 engine?

Hmm - strange Anders!

Only your car pop-up on the french pages at http://www.espace-murena.com/recensement.html
Mine is in the english pages.

By the way, I use the alta-vista translator on the french web sites, not a 100% good translation but it is understandable though.

Yes, you are right Henrik - I think Pascal messed up some database id's as Denmark is listed twice in the country list - yours is in the 'second' Denmark. I have told him on e-mail, but he went on vacation just after updating it - I think he's back, but he's very busy so we shouldn't expect any miracles Wink

By the way, I use the alta-vista translator

which used to only be called babelfish (and can still be reached via http://babelfish.altavista.com/ ). - Extra points for those who know WHY it was called babelfish :-)
(hint1: it's from a book)
(hint2: its related to my 404 page - type in any non-existant URL on matrasport )

Google language tools ( http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en ) also have a very good reputation, and last time I checked, they were able to translate larger sections, and with better results than Babelfish.

And of course having two (or more) different translation services take a shot at it, gives you a better combined result.

I often use them to translate wordings, - like "more than" because sometimes I cannot remember if a (French) wording e.g. means "MORE than" og "LESS than" - but I'm sure it is one of them ... kind of important. :-)

[Its from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

only the first sentence is from 2001, - and I left it in there, as the owner of the server itself is actually called Dave.
The majorioty of the long talk is mimicking the depressed robot Marvin from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Thats where you get a babelfish in your ear, which makes it possible to understand most languages in the galaxy - neat feature Smiley
