I'm about to have a radiator recored and without doubt when I drop it to the bloke he's going to ask me what cores fit. I'm also not a fan of plastic header tanks so would be interested to hear of any complete radiator swaps from other cars.

Anyone have any radiator reconditioning advice? Maybe even a EU or UK specialist who can send a core or complete radiator to me at reasonable prices in Sydney, Australia?

1977 Series 2 Car.

Thanks in advance!

I had a three core system fitted to Bagheera metal end caps in 2011 (for Baggy Joe after my Crystal Palace crash). They normally have twin cores fitted. The company is near Guildford, Surrey, 15 miles from where I live.

I could enquire a price for a twin or three core rebuild if it would help.

The third core made a huge difference to the cooling capacity! Instead of sitting in the queue for the start line with the heater going and the door open I am now thinking of putting back the thermostat to help it warm up quicker!

I quess UPS or similar could ship it to Oz for you? What about import taxes etc?

Yeah that's great. Exactly what I was looking for. If you could find out I'd be very appreciative.

I run a 3 core "standard" type core in my Fiat road car and it works great. My racecar has a "High Efficiency" core which has the "fins" brazed/soldered between the tubes like an oil cooler. Its brilliant (although more expensive) but for a car like my Bagheera with a small radiator, a warmish motor, no oil cooler and a hot climate it would be worth paying the extra for - if its available.

Taxes etc shouldn't be a problem as parcels imported for personal use <$1000AUD (approx GBP 650) are tax exempt.

Thanks heaps for the advice!

Oh - while I'm on a roll I just thought of another question - another new thread. LOL.

I found the details in my 2011 diary - what a system!
Guildford Radiators, 10 Littlemead Ind Est., Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8ND. 01483 277713, Phil Jackson. His inv # DCS 58989. (Does he have a website?- I didn't ask, sorry)

Today, with free issue end caps (I can organise), a three core would be GBP 150 + 20% VAT. A two core would be around GBP130 + VAT. I asked if he could ship direct to Oz as that would be "an export" and avoid you having to pay our VAT but he can't do that. So I would have to collect and ship to you (and I could do that).

Delivery time 7-10 days from receipt of the free-issue parts.

Hi Andy. I'm struggling big time with the PM service on this forum. I got a message from you but it just looks like the message I sent to you, sent back?  Huh
