Hi. I'm new to the forum, and have a few questions regarding wheel and tire fitment on the Murena. Ideally I would like to fit 8x16 ET25 in the front and 9x16 ET20 in the back. Can anyone tell me if these  will  fit my 81 Murena? Clearance issues? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Can't answer your question but this may help a little bit:

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Are we talking road car or track car?

Thank you for the kind welcome. We are talking about a road/trackday car. Primarily a road/weekend-driver, but it may also see some track time.

I wouldn't go farther than 7J on the front. Steering will be worse and the chance of damaging your panels is not unimaginable.

Hmmm. That wasn't exactly the answer I was hoping for Smiley I'm quite sure I've heard that Politecnic supplied rims for the Murena in 7,5x17 ET20 for the front and 8,5x17 ET13 for the back? 8" in the front and 9" in the back would look awesome on the Murena I think Grin

Hi Tjommi

For a road car I think Martijn is being generous at 7".  The Murena is so light at the front I would use a 6" rim, with a large tyre footprint in the wet the car will be an absolute dog and in the dry will skip around every undulation and white line on the road but no a very smooth track not so bad.

Welcome to the forum.  Grin
You would need a body kit to widen the fenders or the tires would rub. Also need spacers since the stock wheels only have about 1/2" clerance to the rear swingers. But it could be done.  Cool
John is right though about the front tires. Not enough weight to keep contact on wet road if too wide tires.

Guess I'll start looking for a new set of rims then...  Smiley So you guys think I'll be alright if I find a 7" rim with about 30 offset? How about size? Will 17" be ok, or should i stick to 16" or below? I don't mind a harsh ride Grin My Forester daily driver is rolling on Impreza STi suspention and 18", so I'm used to a stiff ride Tongue

Here are a couple of links to help you figure out how radical you can go.  Grin
This one is for calculating wheel offset.
http://www.oponeo.co.uk/advice-and-tips/wheel-offset-calculator

This one lets you compare tire sizes to find one with the equivalent circumference.
http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire-size-calculator/

For eksample, if you take the stock 195/60R15 a close match would be  245/40R17. 91.9 Mph compared to 90 Mph for the stock tire.
Not that I would recommend such a low profile, though.  Wink

There are several kits available but they are not cheap
From Simon Fleischmann F2 and Fleischmann F3.
From Politecnic: Kit J.P. Beltoise, Murena évolution "Groupe .4" & “Groupe 5” and Groupe F.
There are many options if you are willing to spend the money!

I got myself a set of "new" rims today. They have to be restored so the picture is borrowed from the interwebs...

I wanted ATS Classics in 15" but I could only find 13" Classics. Then these beauties came on my path. 15" ATF rims. I got the set of 4 for only 50 Euro's...

Now I have to figure out if I wish to polish the rims or coat them silver...

Damn! Those were wide Grin I wasn't looking to go that wide, just some standard flares if possible. Sweet ride you've got there, looks like a supercar. Do you have the horsepower to back it up?
