Hello everyone

I recently acquired a Murena 2.2 project with the 'S' twin carb modification.
It has been off the road for a long time so will require significant and sympathetic work to get it back to the road.
I have begun gathering parts for this and am looking for the following at present:

Any second hand useable condition front and rear suspension shock absorbers
The OS (passenger side) bulkead cover plate that goes over the windscreen wiper motor and the second plate that affixes to this and to the OS front wheel arch. Both of mine had completely rusted away...

Thanks

Hi Ian,

Pleased you are attempting to get a Murena back on the road. Where roughly are you located?
I may be able to help out with some items.

Up in Scarborough Graham.
I removed the front bonnet wheel well last weekend to inspect the bodywork in more detail and while crusty in places, I have not yet found any rot on the frame (only the riveted metal cover plates I mentioned). But the car has stood for 7 years so needs a good overhaul.
Suspension pieces from Simon /Will etc are expensive and I am aiming for a 'budget' back on the road car.
Interior in nice shape, engine unknown at this time. Will be overhauling the carbs as a matter of course.
Thanks
Ian

I found the front shocks from Simca 1100 and Bagheera work OK, in fact the dealer over-here sell them as a direct replacement.
This make a wide range of shockers at the front possible.
I have them on my 2.2 and 1.6 and am satisfied.

For example this will do.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Replacement-Pair-Talbot-1307-1510-Simca-1307-1-3-Front-KYB-Shock-Absorber-/190866072477?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c7081239d

The rear is another story.
original are nowhere to find.
I bought a set of Spax krypton type G695
Made the original spring fit with a plate.
Not cheap but not much choices.

Hello Ian,

I have not forgotten. Just waiting for the weekend to pay a visit to my spares emporium. Fairly sure I have the rear shocks and maybe those panels. Will keep you posted.

Graham

P.S. The car looks pretty good in the other post.

Hi Ian

I have unearthed original Matra front and rear shocks that were very new when I removed them. All working o.k.

I haven't got the fan cover plate but if it is the vertical wheelarch plate behind the nearside wheel that is still there.

Hi graham. Thanks for checking.
Yes to the suspension, just pm me what you would like for them.
The other part is not the vertical panel, mine is still ok.
It is the fan cover and the plat the joins the fan over to the top of the wheelarch?

Hi Ian,

I have your details. Will send them today.

Cheers,

Graham

P.S. Hello David. Yes on the starter motor, but I will have it checked out first at my local motor factors.
