upgrading brakes

Hello Matristi,

I have been looking for a brake upgrade ( front ) for my Murena for quite some years now. The Audi callipers are the only option so far. However I prefer a calliper with at least two pistons. ( "fixed type callipers" ).
We tried to fit several Alfa Romeo callipers but no results so far.
Of course there are options, but starting from â,¬ 1.800,=
Did anybody made some progress on this subject ?

so far i know the front braking system of the talbot 1510 has to fit to the murena.
As i heared, but i dont onow for sure, the discs have a bigger sice and the caloper has 2 pistons, maybe you can find something about it on the internet.

You are correct. I know WHP racing has used this combo as well, but still it is not what I am looking for.

For brake upgrades you can use High Spec for the front.

since you need a bell and rotor as well depending on your setup

Now, how much did it all cost, and how did you tackle front to rear brake balance?

Forgot to ask, Is there any need to replace the brakecylinder? with the 4 pistons I would think a larger volume is needed

The brakecylinder can stay because the pistons are smaller. I does not make a lot of difference in pedal travel. Costs lets say 1300euro. Brake balnce not adjusted.
You could try the Alfa Romeo 75 2.0 Twinsparks calipers. They are two pot Brembo ones And from their build your own set maybe ?

I think I suggested putting in a smaller engine so the brakes could cope, but really I'm just jealous of your V6 Murena!

Saturday afternoon, I met a yellow Ferrari 360 spyder on the street here in our suburb of Copenhagen (which isn't a common car here, due to the horrendous taxes on cars!), and he was apparantly out wanting to trigger other peoples jealousy becaue he really fired it off in 1st, and as you probably all know it would, it was screamt like a pig causing thrills down my back! Even though I was driving my V6 (the Grand Espace) and that's a pretty well sounding car once it's reved up, this is .... well, just different. Better

OMG, he said the F-word !

It is of course personal, but I must admit, - however much I like some of that brands cars from the 1980'ies, I never *really* have caught on to the metallic crackle of their exhaust note.

I prefer the more full bodied engines/exhausts - like on the BMW V12 powered dutch Spyker at Le Mans in 2002 :

Wonderful engine, outrageous car - I love it.
That was the version with the riveted aluminium body:

that looked like the echo of the aeroplanes from that wet, wild (and stoned?) companys past. :-)

The following years, they have however been using the Audi V8 version, which sounds nice, but sadly is no match for the BMW V12.
