HI All
Just quick one, The gear linkage cable on our 2.2 Grand has broken, There are two cables one moves side to side the other (the one that has broken) moves back and forth. Has any one in Espace land got any idea where I can get one (but not at main dealer price's) the Euro parts site you recomend does not seem to list them. On the plus side have taken the old cable off and it seems to be a realy easy job, I might regret saying that when it comes to putting the new one back on.
Thanks    Dave M.

I find that getting components off is often more difficult than getting them on, so I think you are in luck about the refitting Smiley
You can try calling our parts brokers here in Denmark, he's usually some 30% cheaper than the official danish channels, but whether that's cheaper than the UK dealers, I don't know. Anyway, I think it's unlikely if you can find non-original parts for this.

Stony Renault at +45 7456 0662

I'm not sure how much English they can manage though, but you can at least try.

Thanks for the input guys.
Here's the story so far, I thought it was all to easy for an espace, Firstly every supplier I have tried can't supply the said cable. No phase 4 espace in any local scrap yards (That must be a good sign for long term ownership) Next step dreaded Renault dealer get ready for this, Can't supply one cable I have to buy both cables junction box (under car bottom of gear stick) and gear stick and knob and all for the princely sum of £251 plus V.A.T. Thats £300 for a broken cable, yet another Renault shocker. Man from the R.A.C. who recoverd the car said "to put it simply don't buy a French car" So it looks like it's time to dust off the cheque book!

Maybe try Cable-Tec.... they make and repair control cables
www.cable-tec.co.uk/

Used them in a former life so know they make one-offs as well as production runs but dependent upon where yours has failed they may be able to salvage the outer and the end fittings and do a repair job for you.
