Thanks Spyros. got your email, and some good references. Still no luck on the head gasket unless I buy from Simon. a bit pricey with hsipping from EU.

I'll have a look on how many 1290 cc head gaskets I've in stock. Might be that most of them are 1440 cc. Otherwhise, Frank Mellman in Lubeck is less expensive

I am pretty sure that the gasket for a 1.3 Peugeot 309 with the OHV Simca engine (1294) will fit and and as they were made from '85 to '93 (I think) so parts are easier to source.

I've sent them an email. They have a listing of N11446 for the head gasket set for Pugeot 309 1.1, 1.3 Talbot engine. Maybe that right, we'll see.

Thanks,

Hi Joe
Did you manage to lay yourhands on a head gasket?

I was rummaging through some old bits and pieces in my loft looking for some Rancho parts when I came across a brand new head gasket for a Bagheera still in its wrapper.  It lists the 1442 and the 1294 engine.

If you still need one let me know.

All the best for 2008.

David was kind enough to send me a head gasket. I owe him something for it. Just arrived a few days ago.

But, I made a huge mistake and let my 17 year old son drive the car. I've been gentle on the clutch, but he burned it up in about 10 minutes. Sigh, never ends. I'll be looking for a clutch disk, pressure plate, and release bearing now. I think I better contact MatraMagic.

Once again, if anyone has sources for these parts, I would be grateful. In the US, we have no source for any Matra parts.

Thanks David, let me know what I owe you for the gasket.

Oh yes, I need help. I've got the plan to get the car apart next month before it gets murderously hot here in Texas. I've asked around about rebuilding and the plate is no problem, but no one will try the pressure plate. That's the sticker.

Let me know price and availability, and I'll send you some Pounds, or Euros, or whatever.

Thanks,

Doc

Can you please measure the outside diameter of the clutch plate.

Alternatively, does anyone else know the equivalent part number for a Valeo or Borg & Beck clutch kit?
