 Shocked
there is a small stream of smoke coming just above the fanswitch. when  the fan is on it come from the right and above the switch.  smells like burned plastic or electronic. Im pretty scared  Undecided

ive just washed the car (by hand) and hinking if could have anything to do with it?  maybe water in the fan?? and I just got the switch for windowspray to work.

ohh yeah, its not smoke from leaking watermatrix

If you have melted wiring around the switch, then check the fanmotor.
Because of a warn bus,  the fanmotor ask lots of current.
Thats why the switch let down.

I dont know if the resistance is in the switch
It isn't - they are in the fan motor.

Will at MatraMagic should have them, but I would think most of the normal suppliers have as well.
As far as I remember, not expensive, so no need to find alternatives.

Hi folks,

just an idea.
I suggest to build a small PCB with 3 relays, so that the switch only switches the coils from the relays. The contacts from the relays can keep a very higher current than the switch. Say 10 Ampere or so.

Kind regards

Michael

Why wouldt you want to do that?
a new switch will last another 25 years if the fanmotor runs free.
