Wanted, a few detailed photos
February 10, 2008, 07:20:22 PM
Hi all

Can anybody help with photos of the sealing list of doors.
I forgot to take photos of this detail before I removed everything

It is a rubber list.
It's mounted on the top of the doors, and I need to see the ends.
(Cut straigth, angled or whatever )

Thanks in advance

Hi there, i'll add my experiences on this one. Thats the rubber for the tops of the doors and provides the right seal  from door to the chassis BUT i think that a different type (thinner) is used on the vertical section of the door, if you use this a) you cant shut the door b) if you do it pulls the rubber strip off. I ended up replacing one side but wasnt happy with the result, im waiting to find the vertical rubber strip before i continue. Oh and on my original Murena door rubbers it was cut angled. Hope this helps and WE can find new rubber for both top and sides for the doors...

The seal is fixed with double adhesive pu-tape, with the seal itself pointing outwards. Cut it to length with a pair of scissors when you have it fitted as you don't know the correct length of it until it's fixed in position (it is quite elastic). There's a plug in the front end (over the side mirror) which you need to drill a hole in the seal base to work through. Cut off the vertical part of the seal for two cm to make the base flat for the plug to come trhough. Fit it from the plug end (front) first, working carefully backwards.

Hi guys :-)

I appriciate all your efforts for me !
Maybe I have mis expressed my wishes a little, so I took some photos (see attached) from the angles I would like to see the rubber list in.

As you can see it is still uncut, I need to know cut angles, distances from corners etcetera,

Could you help with this, I will be happy :P

The starting point is the pin, I think you must have a hole there.
At the end its cut off in a 45 degree angle.
A pic of mine wil not help because the rubber is 25 years old and has shrinked a little.
There is no vertical rubber on mine.
If it ever was there, I don't know.

If you mitre (45 degree) the rubber you can glue both pieces together with super glue.

I need to replace my own door rubbers so I am watching this post with considerable interest! :)

I think that was the meaning of the angle.
I would use PU kit for mounting and puting together the pieces.

Yep as far I can see there was no vertical list.
The upper rubber leads the water from the roof to the A and B stiles.
The vertical part of the window leans pretty good to the inner rubber.
For the fun some pics again.

Can't be a problem I think.
