Improvement of handling by modifying susp.
May 11, 2004, 01:30:32 PM
Dear Matraciens,

Currently I drive my Matra with Koni Shocks in combination with Eibach springs ( rear ). Besides Spax and Billstein are there other options ? Especially lowering the rear a bit keeps me busy sometimes.

Any tips ?

Thank you in advance
Jos

What is the reason you have replaced the springs ? - length/diameter ?

and are your Koni's height-adjustable ?

Dear Lennart,

I replaced rear springs to get stiffer rear ! Koni´s are not height adjustable !

Spax is too expensive and unreliable ( they tend to leak ).

With kind regards,
Jos

Politecnic now offers DECARBON shocks. These would make a perfect match if used in the front in combination with rear Koni's.

Just for info.

With kind regards,
Jos

Hi

I've been searching a long time for adjustable coil-over shock-absorbers that has a normal price (EUR500 each is WAY above my budget). My best tip so far would be to look at
http://www.raldes.co.uk/   (GAZ)
http://www.dampertech.co.uk/

(I'm going to calculate spring-rates and shock-rates when my new body-panels are finished..)

Other tip ??

Hi,

I have also been looking for height adjustable shocks for a long time, but I am quite satisfied with the setup I have now.
I have contacted lots of companies for helping us out on this issue but non of the " famous " brands could help.

Maybe I will go for the DECARBON shocks later  ???

I will let you know if anything happens on this side :)

It´s sometimes nice to have a father with contacts.

He was helping Öhlins out recently, maybe they can help me when i´ve bought a murena :)
